Lisa L. Johnson

Lisa L. Johnson is an experienced family law attorney based in Lexington, Kentucky. She has been practicing law since 1988 and focuses on family law matters, including divorce, marital dissolution, child custody, division of assets, and appeals in family law cases. Ms. Johnson is known for her dedication to achieving fair outcomes for her clients and her strong commitment to professional ethics.

Ms. Johnson earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Kentucky in 1984. She continued her education at the University of Kentucky J. David Rosenberg College of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctor in 1987. While in law school, she was recognized for her advocacy skills and served as a National Team Alternate on the Moot Court Board.

Her legal career began with a clerkship under Judge Charles Tackett in Fayette Circuit Court. This provided her with valuable courtroom experience and a foundation for her future practice. She later joined the law firm Landrum and Shouse as an associate attorney, where she gained experience in various areas of law. In 1994, she established her own family law practice to focus on helping clients navigate challenging legal situations.

Ms. Johnson is a certified mediator, a role she has proudly held since 1995. She uses her extensive mediation experience to help families resolve disputes quickly, cost‑effectively, and outside of court. A respected leader in the legal community, she has served as President of the Fayette County Bar Association and Chair of its Family Law Section. She is also a Trial Commissioner for the Kentucky Bar Association, appointed by the Kentucky Supreme Court to hear and decide cases involving attorney ethics.

In addition to her legal work, Ms. Johnson is deeply involved in community service. She has served on the boards of organizations like Chrysalis House, God’s Pantry, and the Bluegrass Trust for Historic Preservation. Her efforts in both law and community service demonstrate her dedication to improving the lives of those she serves.
