Lisa J. Damiani

Lisa J. Damiani is a highly recognized trial attorney with decades of experience representing individuals and businesses in both criminal and civil matters. She has handled serious cases involving fraud, money laundering, homicide, and employment disputes, trying them in state and federal courts with great success.

Lisa earned her B.A. from New York University in 1983 and went on to receive her J.D. from California Western School of Law in 1988. While at law school, she was on the Law Review, had her work published in the International Law Journal, and earned the Richard D. Westbrook Trial Advocacy Award for outstanding trial skills.

Lisa began her legal career focused on criminal defense. She was later recruited by McKenna & Cuneo to join its white-collar crime group, where she worked on cases involving fraud, civil litigation, and regulatory defense. She also represented major corporations, handling complex matters tied to business and employment disputes.

Throughout her career, Lisa has guided clients through parallel criminal and civil cases, especially where employment or financial misconduct was involved. Her experience includes high-profile cases such as Manduley v. Superior Court and Lexin v. Superior Court. She has also gained national attention for her representation of the family of James Holmes in the Colorado theater shooting case.

Lisa holds memberships in several leading legal organizations, including the State Bar of California, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Litigation Counsel of America. She has earned the AV Preeminent Rating from Martindale-Hubbell every year since 1998 and has been named a San Diego Super Lawyer continuously since 2010.
