Lisa B. Shelkrot

Lisa B. Shelkrot is a distinguished trial lawyer with extensive experience in complex civil and criminal litigation. She represents corporate and individual clients in state and federal courts, providing strategic counsel in construction disputes, fraud, civil rights cases, commercial litigation, and Title IX investigations. A dedicated courtroom advocate, Lisa has successfully tried numerous jury and bench trials, earning a reputation for her sharp litigation skills and commitment to justice.

Lisa holds a J.D., magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School (1991) and a B.A., magna cum laude, from Yale College (1986). After clerking for the Honorable Stephanie K. Seymour of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, she began her legal career as a public defender in New York City. In 1995, she joined Langrock Sperry & Wool, becoming a partner in 2000 and serving on the firm’s management committee since 2007.

Lisa’s work spans various legal issues, from defending clients in serious criminal matters to representing businesses in complex commercial disputes. She frequently collaborates with national firms as local counsel, leveraging her in-depth knowledge of Vermont’s legal landscape. She also serves as the Criminal Justice Act Panel Representative for the U.S. District Court of Vermont and contributes to various federal court committees.
