Liam earned his undergraduate degree from the College of Charleston before receiving his Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, from Charleston School of Law. His academic distinction reflected early commitment and discipline, which carried over into his legal career. He was active in law review, an experience that sharpened his skills in research, writing, and analysis, preparing him for high-stakes litigation.
Liam has handled complex matters involving workplace safety, trucking collisions, defective products, power line electrocutions, and dram shop liability. His recent results include a $21 million jury verdict against Dominion Energy for wrongful death, a $16 million settlement against a national daycare chain following the death of an infant, and $15.75 million for a worker who suffered a spinal cord injury on an unsafe worksite. He also obtained $9.75 million for a client injured in a catastrophic drunk driving crash.
Liam integrates advanced trial technology into his courtroom strategy, allowing him to present evidence persuasively to juries. His forward-thinking approach ensures jurors fully understand the complexities of each case. Beyond his practice, he is a frequent lecturer on trial advocacy and litigation strategy, presenting at programs hosted by organizations such as the South Carolina Bar, the Kentucky Justice Association, and the Louisiana Association for Justice. He is also the primary author of Dealing with Objections to Written Discovery, a leading treatise in South Carolina.
Liam Duffy continues to advance the interests of his clients and community through tireless advocacy, leadership, and commitment to justice.
