Lester A. Ottenheimer, III

Lester A. Ottenheimer, III is the founder and Senior Partner of Ottenheimer Law Group and a fourth-generation attorney serving individuals and businesses throughout Chicagoland. He is known for providing clear, practical legal advice and building long-term client relationships grounded in trust, efficiency, and results-driven representation.

Lester earned his undergraduate degree from Indiana University and his Juris Doctor from Indiana University School of Law. His education laid the foundation for a broad-based legal practice that combines strong analytical skills with practical business insight. He is admitted to practice in multiple federal courts, including bankruptcy and trial courts.

Lester focuses his practice on bankruptcy and commercial litigation, while also representing clients in residential and commercial real estate transactions, corporate and transactional matters, and estate planning and administration. He has guided clients through Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy proceedings and handled complex consumer and commercial disputes.

Before founding Ottenheimer Law Group in 2005, Lester served as general counsel for a local leasing and finance company. He was also a partner at a mid-sized Chicagoland law firm, where he chaired the bankruptcy and litigation committees and represented clients in jury trials. He is also a certified mediator.

Lester has earned professional recognition through multiple selections to Super Lawyers and Leading Lawyers lists. He regularly presents on bankruptcy topics, authors legal articles, and delivers continuing legal education seminars on a range of subjects relevant to attorneys and business professionals.

Active in his community, Lester A. Ottenheimer, III served as chairman of the Village of Buffalo Grove Plan Commission for over a decade and currently serves as a Village Trustee. He is also involved in philanthropic efforts, including past service as president of the United Way of Buffalo Grove, reflecting his commitment beyond the practice of law.
