Leela Madan

Leela Madan is a highly experienced intellectual property attorney with a strong focus on patent prosecution, trademark law, and business IP strategy. She works closely with business owners, entrepreneurs, and corporations to identify, protect, and monetize their intellectual property through licensing and strategic enforcement. With over 15 years of experience, she has extensive patent and trademark law knowledge, particularly in industries such as oil and gas, consumer goods, software, and media.

Leela earned her Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law in 2009 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Mathematics from St. Edward’s University (2005). She is admitted to the State Bar of Texas, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), and the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado. Her strong technical background allows her to handle complex patent matters in various scientific and engineering fields.

As the founder of her intellectual property law firm, Leela delivers end-to-end IP services, including patent prosecution, trademark registration, IP portfolio strategy, and brand enforcement. She has successfully represented clients in opposition and cancellation actions before the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) and regularly counsels businesses on how to protect and strengthen their brand assets against infringement. Before launching her practice, Leela worked as a patent attorney at a boutique IP firm in Houston and later led the intellectual property division at a large general practice firm. Her background includes securing patents in the upstream oil and gas industry working on innovations in drilling technologies, chemical additives, and fracking operations. She has extensive experience with trademarks in cosmetics, textiles, breweries, entertainment, and software applications.
