Lawrence A. Cooper is an experienced Atlanta trial lawyer and partner at Cohen, Cooper, Estep & Allen, LLC. Admitted to practice in Georgia and Texas in 1975, he has more than four decades of courtroom experience. His practice includes divorce and family law, catastrophic personal injury, business litigation, wrongful death, medical malpractice, complex commercial litigation, and mediation. He is known for strategic case preparation and strong jury advocacy.
Lawrence earned his B.A. from Tulane University and his J.D. from St. Mary’s University. He also earned his LL.M. from Emory University. He also completed a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Elmo Holt in the Atlanta Judicial Circuit. His academic training and early courtroom exposure built a foundation in litigation strategy, legal analysis, and professional ethics that guides his practice today.
Over his career, Lawrence has tried significant jury cases involving medical negligence, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, wrongful death, and invasion of privacy. He also handles complex divorce and custody litigation, prenuptial agreements, guardianship matters, and high-conflict domestic disputes. In business litigation, he represents clients in breach of contract, fraud, RICO, libel, restrictive covenant, and fiduciary duty cases.
