Lauren Calta

Lauren Calta is a personal injury trial lawyer and co-founder of Zervos & Calta PLLC in Tampa Bay, Florida, with more than 30 years of personal injury litigation experience. She represents injured people and families in wrongful death claims, car crashes, trucking accidents, motorcycle collisions, pedestrian and bicycle accidents, traumatic brain injury cases, and slip and fall claims. She began representing injured clients in Florida in 1995 and established the firm with Angela Zervos in 2017.

Lauren earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from St. John’s University in 1988, graduating magna cum laude. She received her Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School in 1991, where she earned the American Jurisprudence Award in Evidence. She was admitted to the New York Bar in 1992 and the Florida Bar in 1995. She is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.

Lauren began her legal career as an Assistant District Attorney with the Kings County District Attorney’s Office. She prosecuted felony cases, presented indictments to grand juries, and argued appellate issues before the New York Appellate Division of the Supreme Court. Her civil litigation experience extends to mass tort claims against the tobacco industry and pharmaceutical companies, including representation of women who developed cancer after hormone replacement therapy. Her work spans individual accident claims and litigation involving harmful products.

Lauren Calta holds lifetime memberships in the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum and has received Lawyers of Distinction recognition. Her professional affiliations include the Florida Bar, Florida Justice Association, and Tampa Bay Trial Lawyers Association. She personally meets with every client and remains involved from the initial consultation through settlement or verdict. That direct involvement extends her advocacy beyond the courtroom, giving injured clients access to the attorney who pursues their claims.
