Lance T. Harmon

Lance T. Harmon is the managing partner at Bailey | Stock | Harmon | Cottam | Lopez LLP. He focuses his Wyoming practice on estate planning, business law, real estate law, tax matters, and elder law. He advises clients on wills, trusts, probate, advance directives, business formations, acquisitions, dissolutions, bankruptcy concerns, foreclosures, and real estate transactions. He further handles 1031 tax-deferred exchanges and serves as a mediator in trust and estate disputes.

Lance earned his J.D. from the University of Wyoming in 1996. He earned his B.S. in Accounting from Utah State University in 1993. He is admitted to practice in Wyoming, Colorado, and before the United States Tax Court. His accounting education supports his work on transactions, tax planning, business structures, and estate administration involving significant financial considerations.

Lance helps individuals and families develop plans for asset management, incapacity, wealth transfer, and estate administration. He assists business owners with entity planning, company formation, purchases, sales, restructuring, and dissolution. He guides property owners and investors through real estate matters involving contracts, financing, ownership concerns, and tax-deferred exchanges. He has taught advanced business organizations as an adjunct professor at the University of Wyoming College of Law. He has further taught continuing legal education courses concerning probate, estate planning, administration, and business planning.

Lance T. Harmon combines transactional knowledge, teaching experience, and professional leadership when advising Wyoming clients. He previously served as president of the Wyoming State Bar Foundation and on the Wyoming Wildlife Federation’s board of directors. He belongs to the Wyoming State Bar, Colorado Bar Association, National Association of Elder Law Attorneys, and Southeast Wyoming Estate Planning Council.
