Kristi Kingston, Esq., is the founder and managing attorney of the Employee & Labor Law Group of Kansas City, LLC. A graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law, she is licensed to practice in Missouri and Kansas. With decades of experience, Kristi focuses her practice on plaintiffs’ employment discrimination litigation, including cases involving sex, age, race, disability, religion, and national origin discrimination and retaliation. Her expertise extends to wrongful discharge, Equal Pay Act claims, Family and Medical Leave Act violations, wage and hour disputes, and personal injury cases.
Kristi is a recognized leader in employment law and is frequently invited to speak at legal seminars on the subject. She has successfully litigated numerous cases in federal and state courts, including achieving a $2.5 million verdict in a 2014 sexual harassment case. Her work has earned her widespread recognition, including a sixteen-year streak (2008–2023) as a Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyer in labor and employment law, a designation reserved for the top 5% of attorneys. From 2015 to 2019, she was named one of the top 50 female lawyers in Missouri and Kansas by Super Lawyers Magazine. She was additionally recognized as one of the top 100 lawyers and top 50 lawyers in Kansas City in 2016.
Kristi’s dedication to the legal profession goes far beyond the courtroom. She is a past president of the Eighth Circuit National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA), the Kansas City Chapter of NELA, and the Foundation of the Lawyers Association of Kansas City (LAKC). She also led the Board of Directors for Coro Kansas City, a premier leadership development program, and continues to stay actively involved in multiple professional and legal organizations.
