About

Kristen S. Simpson focuses on family law matters that affect parents, children, and households across Kentucky. Her legal work includes divorce, child custody, child support, mediation, adoption, and enforcement cases. She also assists clients facing difficult family changes by helping them understand legal options and move through the court process clearly.

Kristen earned a B.A. In English and Communications from the University of Kentucky in 2005, after receiving the William C. Parker Scholarship and the Gates Millennium Scholarship. Kristen later earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Kentucky while overcoming major personal challenges and raising her son as a single mother. During law school, she worked as an intern at the Children’s Law Center. There, she helped identify children needing support and encouraged students facing serious difficulties at home and school.

Kristen moved back to Western Kentucky in 2012 to remain close to family and began practicing law after passing the bar exam. She gained broad legal experience while working in a practice that handled many areas of law. Even with that exposure, family law remained the area that connected most strongly with her interests.

Kristen completed mediation training for family law and divorce matters in 2014. Since then, she has continued helping clients resolve disputes involving custody, visitation, and other family concerns. She also handles dependency, neglect, and abuse cases where parents have temporarily lost custody of their children because of harmful decisions or unsafe conditions.

Kristen approaches legal work with a practical understanding of the emotional pressure families often experience during legal disputes. Clients appreciate her ability to explain court procedures in simple language while remaining focused on their goals. Her background allows her to relate to individuals facing stressful transitions involving children, finances, and personal responsibilities.

Kristen S. Simpson continues to represent clients in matters involving divorce, child custody, mediation, adoption, child support, and related family law concerns. She works closely with individuals who need clear legal direction during uncertain times. Her experience with both courtroom matters and negotiated resolutions helps clients pursue outcomes that support long-term family stability.
