About

Eric H. Clayman focuses on criminal defense matters throughout Florida, handling charges that range from misdemeanors to serious felony allegations. His background in law enforcement gives him practical insight into police investigations, arrest procedures, and courtroom preparation. He works closely with clients while building defense strategies designed to challenge the State’s position effectively.

Eric earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Eastern Michigan University in 2002. During college, he attended the Washtenaw County Police Academy and completed training in marksmanship, physical fitness, and defensive driving tactics. He later obtained his Juris Doctorate from St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami, Florida, in 2006.

Eric worked as a certified police officer in Hamtramck, Michigan, located inside the City of Detroit Proper. His assignments included DUI investigations, narcotics investigations, auto theft investigations, and executing high-risk felony arrest and search warrants. That experience helped him understand how criminal investigations are developed before charges ever reach court.

Eric later began his legal career as a Certified Legal Intern for the Broward County State Attorney’s Office while attending law school. After graduation, he worked for the Broward County Public Defender’s Office and then handled felony courtrooms, Drug Court, Domestic Violence cases, and Mental Health Court matters in Broward County.

Eric has extensive experience handling DUI investigations and cases involving alleged impairment. His legal work also includes matters connected to narcotics and vice investigations. Because of his law enforcement background, he understands investigative procedures that many criminal defense attorneys have never personally experienced, allowing him to examine reports, evidence, and police conduct carefully.

Eric represents individuals facing charges that include second-degree misdemeanors, drug offenses, domestic violence allegations, human trafficking cases, and murder charges. He is known for filing detailed motions during the discovery process to identify weaknesses in the prosecution’s case. His goal is to pursue dismissals, reduced charges, or stronger outcomes for clients whenever possible.

Eric H. Clayman is admitted to the Florida Bar and to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. He is also admitted to practice in the Bankruptcy Court. His career combines courtroom advocacy, investigative knowledge, and direct communication with clients seeking strong criminal defense representation during difficult legal situations.
