Kirsty E. Liedman

Kirsty E. Liedman brings strong legal insight and personal dedication to helping families through emotionally charged and life-changing legal challenges. She focuses on family law, adoption, divorce, child custody, protection orders, and matters involving transgender rights, name changes, and premarital agreements. Her mediation skills further support clients in resolving issues amicably.

Kirsty holds a Bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of North Dakota and later earned her Juris Doctor from Mitchell Hamline School of Law. She also obtained a Child Welfare Certificate and completed over 150 hours of pro bono work with the Minnesota Justice Foundation. Her education blends legal knowledge with a trauma-informed, empathetic approach to family matters.

Kirsty was actively engaged during her time in law school. She served as Vice President of the Student Bar Association and held leadership roles in multiple committees, including Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. She was instrumental in supporting first-generation law students and has remained involved in bar associations across North Dakota and Minnesota.

Kirsty is a member of the National LGBT+ Bar Association and the LGBT Family Law Institute. She also contributes her time as a board member of Friends of the Children. Her dedication to inclusion and equity is evident in her work and professional affiliations, and she advocates for the unique needs of every client with sensitivity and clarity.
