About
Kieran Murphy is a partner and trial attorney at Bertram & Murphy who represents victims of birth injuries, neonatal injuries, and catastrophic medical malpractice. Kieran practices in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania and has handled matters in additional jurisdictions through pro hac vice admissions. His work focuses on complex injury litigation that requires close analysis of medical evidence, expert testimony, damages, and procedural issues affecting trial preparation and presentation.
Kieran graduated magna cum laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2014 and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, cum laude, from Seton Hall University in 2011. In law school, he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Land and Development and participated in the Community Development Clinic. He received the Clinical Excellence Award for advocacy and professional judgment in clinical work.
Before private practice, Kieran clerked for Judge John P. Davey in the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County, where he researched medical malpractice, civil procedure, and evidence issues and observed trials and motions practice. He now writes and presents on evidence, expert testimony, electronic medical records, digital evidence, artificial intelligence evidence, depositions, and trial strategy. His practice applies those skills to high-stakes medical malpractice cases involving serious injury.
Kieran Murphy has been recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star and a National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 attorney, and he was named to The Maryland Daily Record’s Medical Malpractice & Personal Injury Power List. Kieran combines courtroom experience with detailed work on evidence and procedure, helping injured clients present complex medical facts clearly and pursue accountability through litigation and trial.
