About
Kevin T. Ellmann, Esq., is a Colorado criminal defense lawyer at Ellmann & Ellmann, P.C., with decades of courtroom experience. He handles cases involving DUI, domestic violence, felonies, juvenile law, drug charges, white collar crimes, and traffic violations. He began his legal career in 1997 as a law clerk for the Honorable William F. Dressel in Colorado’s 8th Judicial District. In 1998, he became a Deputy District Attorney in the 18th Judicial District and built a strong foundation in criminal prosecution and courtroom practice.
Kevin earned his B.S. in Political Science/Pre-Law from the University of Wyoming in 1994. He then earned his J.D. from the University of Wyoming, College of Law, in 1997. His education gave him a strong understanding of legal research, writing, and courtroom procedure. That academic training prepared him for public service and later private practice. His formal legal education, paired with years of hands-on courtroom work, helps him guide clients through difficult legal matters with clear advice.
Kevin prosecuted cases in County, Juvenile, and District Courts during his time in the District Attorney’s Office. He later worked in the Douglas County office, became a Senior Deputy in 2005, and left public service in 2006 to focus on defense work. Today, he also serves as Presiding Municipal Judge for the City of Centennial, Town of Morrison, and City of Cherry Hills Village. His judicial service reflects his knowledge of the law and his respected standing in the legal community.
Kevin T. Ellmann helps people protect their rights and build strong defense strategies. He works to reduce charges, negotiate fair plea agreements, and seek dismissals when evidence is weak. Clients benefit from his understanding of how prosecutors prepare cases and how courts evaluate legal issues. His background in both prosecution and defense allows him to offer practical guidance, careful case analysis, and steady representation for people facing serious criminal charges and stressful legal situations across Colorado.
