Marc C. Patoile is an experienced trial lawyer with more than 30 years of practice in Colorado. He focuses on family law, criminal defense, civil litigation, and other complex lawsuits and disputes at Folkestad Fazekas Barrick Patoile & James, P.C. He is known for handling high-conflict and high asset divorce cases, contested custody matters, and courtroom hearings with care and skill. He has first chaired many trials and hearings in state and federal courts. Marc earned his J.D. from the University of Denver in 1995. He also earned an M.B.A. from the University of Denver in 1995, which adds business knowledge that supports his work on complex cases. Earlier, he received a B.A. from the University of Denver in 1992. This academic background gives him a strong base in law, business, and analysis. It also helps him guide clients through cases involving finances, property, family issues, and other legal matters with skill.
Marc has helped more than 1,000 clients in contested matters throughout his career. He has handled over 100 jury trials in criminal and civil cases and more than 400 contested family law hearings. He has represented people in divorce, child custody, child support, parental rights, DUI, juvenile law, and equine law matters. He also works in mediation and collaborative law, giving clients options for settlement when possible. When a court is necessary, he is prepared to argue clearly and effectively for the client’s goals.
Marc C. Patoile has also served the legal community in trusted leadership and court-appointed roles. He is a past President of the Douglas Elbert County Bar Association and has served on the Colorado Bar Association Board of Governors. Judges have appointed him as a mediator, guardian ad litem, special master, and counsel in important matters.
