Kevin Smith

Kevin Smith is a seasoned trial lawyer with a practice dedicated to criminal defense and civil rights litigation in Connecticut. Since 2007, he has represented clients in state and federal courts, handling high-stakes cases at every level—from trial courts to the Connecticut Supreme Court and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. Kevin is known for securing wins across all stages of litigation, including landmark appellate reversals. His broad experience includes trial defense in serious criminal charges, civil rights violations, habeas corpus petitions, and appeals involving prosecutorial misconduct, false arrest, excessive force, and due process violations.

Kevin earned his J.D., cum laude, from Quinnipiac University School of Law in 2007, where he was a Yale Sappern Fellow, Dean’s Scholar, and recognized for excellence in appellate criminal defense. He holds an M.S. in Education from Hunter College (2003) and a B.A. in English with honors from Davidson College (2000).
