Kevin J Block

Kevin J Block is the founder of Maui Immigration Law, LLC, where he represents individuals, families, and community members in immigration matters. His practice reflects a strong commitment to social justice, humane legal solutions, and careful guidance for clients navigating complex immigration systems, legal deadlines, and uncertain futures.

Block earned his Juris Doctor in 2006 from New College of California School of Law. During law school, he gained practical experience through internships with the Public Defender’s Office, the Prison Law Office at San Quentin, and the Housing Clinic, developing a foundation in advocacy, public service, and client-centered representation. Mr. Block is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of California and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He has spent more than a decade handling immigration law in both government service and private practice.

Before founding his firm, Block served as Director of the Immigrant Services Division for the County of Maui’s Department of Housing and Human Concerns. He also worked with the Legal Aid Society of Hawaii and the BEST program at Maui Economic Opportunity, supporting vulnerable individuals through legal information, re-entry services, and practical assistance. His practice includes guidance on immigration relief, asylum, family-based matters, removal concerns, citizenship, and related issues affecting non-citizens in Hawaii. He has spoken on immigration for legal, school, nonprofit, and community groups.

Kevin J Block has served as an expert witness on immigration and has guest lectured at the William S. Richardson School of Law on immigration and asylum. His professional leadership also includes participation in organizations focused on civil liberties, domestic violence prevention, mental health, homelessness, and immigrant rights. He helps clients by combining legal knowledge with steady advocacy, clear communication, and respect for each person’s goals.
