Kenneth Barbe

Kenneth Barbe is Special Counsel at Welborn Sullivan Meck & Tooley in Casper, Wyoming, where he maintains a broad business and transactional practice. He advises clients on commercial transactions, limited liability companies, corporate matters, real estate, employment, estate planning, banking and finance, and landlord-tenant issues, including related litigation. His work also includes business sales and acquisitions and advice to insurance carriers on coverage matters.

Barbe earned a J.D., with honors, from the University of Wyoming Law School in 1983 and a B.S. in Finance, with honors, from the University of Wyoming in 1980. His legal and finance training provides a strong foundation for structuring transactions, evaluating business and property issues, and advising clients on ownership, financing, succession, and risk. He is admitted in Wyoming and before federal courts serving the state.

Barbe’s representative work includes wind leasing transactions, acquisitions of large ranch properties, multimillion-dollar business sales and acquisitions, real estate development options, and surface use agreements for oil and gas development. He has formed hundreds of limited liability companies and corporations, prepared estate planning documents, drafted and reviewed loan documents, and advised clients on secured transactions. His experience spans both routine business planning and complex transactions involving substantial assets.

Kenneth Barbe has participated in efforts to modernize Wyoming limited liability company law, including work connected to the state’s adoption of updated LLC legislation. His professional recognition includes Best Lawyers in America, Chambers USA, Super Lawyers, and a 2015 Corporate Law Lawyer of the Year designation in Casper. He also lectures on legal topics and has served in professional and community leadership roles.
