Casey R. Terrell is counsel at Hirst Applegate, LLP in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where he has practiced since 2024. He maintains a broad civil practice focused on commercial litigation and transactions, real property transactions, and business planning. He is licensed in Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota, and Texas and works with clients on disputes and transactions that require attention to both legal rights and the business or property interests behind them.
Terrell earned a J.D. with Honors from the University of Wyoming College of Law in 2018. He also received an M.A. in Environment and Natural Resources from the Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources at the University of Wyoming in 2018, a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Wyoming in 2015, and an A.A. in Music from Western Wyoming Community College.
Terrell practiced as an associate at Crowley Fleck from 2018 to 2024 before joining Hirst Applegate. His work and scholarship address commercial and real property matters as well as energy and natural resources issues. He has written and presented on topics including carbon capture and sequestration, nuclear reactors, and conflicts between renewable energy development and subsurface mineral development, giving him experience with emerging issues affecting land and energy projects.
Casey R. Terrell was named an American Bar Association On the Rise Top 40 Young Lawyer in 2022. He serves as Chair of the Foundation for Natural Resources and Energy Law Young Professionals Committee and has published in Wyoming Lawyer Magazine, ABA TYL Magazine, and natural resources law publications. His combination of civil practice, business planning, and energy-focused scholarship supports practical advice on transactions and disputes.
