Kelly Patrick Albers

Kelly Patrick Albers is a veteran commercial and business law attorney with more than 35 years of experience advising clients on complex financial, contractual, and litigation matters. His practice includes business collections, creditor representation in bankruptcy proceedings, commercial transactions, and banking law. Mr. Albers represents lenders, credit unions, and commercial entities across New Mexico and Colorado in both state and federal courts.

Mr. Albers earned a B.S. in Business from the University of Colorado in 1979. He went on to receive his J.D. from the University of Denver Law School in 1984, graduating in the top 18% of his class with a focus on business law and commercial transactions. During law school, he interned with Birch, Horton Law Firm in Anchorage, Alaska, which further solidified his interest in creditor and commercial practice.

After law school, Mr. Albers began his legal career at Machol & Machol in Denver, Colorado, before relocating to Las Cruces, New Mexico, in 1987. He practiced with Lloyd O. Bates and later became a shareholder at Campbell, Reeves Law Firm, where he handled commercial litigation, real estate, governmental procurement, and bankruptcy matters. His clients included major financial institutions such as Wells Fargo, Chase Manhattan Bank, and various regional contractors. In this role, he also supported clients in issuing SEC-registered securities and trademark matters.

Kelly Patrick Albers founded The Law Office of Kelly P. Albers, P.C. in 2005 and has since focused his practice on serving financial institutions and business clients. He is licensed to practice law in Colorado and New Mexico, before the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, and in the federal district courts for Colorado, New Mexico, and the Western District of Texas.
