About
Kellie Sanders, Esq., represents clients in criminal defense, DUI defense, juvenile delinquency defense, family law, education law, civil litigation, estate litigation, guardianship, custody, paternity, child support modification, adoption, restraining order, consumer protection, and general lawsuits and disputes at Cohen Cleary, P.C. She approaches each case with careful preparation, clear advice, and steady attention to the client’s needs. Her work reflects a strong public service background and a commitment to helping people face stressful legal problems with informed guidance, practical options, focused advocacy, and sound judgment.
Kellie earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. During her undergraduate studies, she built skills in leadership, public interest work, and community service. She later earned a J.D., cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School. While in law school, she served as a Marshall Brennan Constitutional Law Fellow, teaching constitutional law and literacy and coaching moot court. She also received the John E. Fenton Jr. Award for Public Service for her work helping people needing support.
Kellie began her legal career with a strong focus on public defense and access to justice. Before entering private practice, she worked as a Massachusetts Public Defender with the Committee for Public Counsel Services. That role gave her direct courtroom experience and a deeper understanding of people facing criminal charges, family strain, and difficult legal systems. She also developed insight into how careful advocacy can protect rights, explain choices, and help clients move through complex legal matters with more confidence.
Kellie Sanders continues to help people through professional service, pro bono work, and legal education. She is active in the Massachusetts Bar Association, American Bar Association Criminal Defense and Family Law Sections, Plymouth County Bar Association, and Plymouth District Court Bar Association. She also serves in the Plymouth and Bristol County Attorneys Representing Children program, accepting pro bono appointments for children in high-conflict custody disputes. Kellie brings practical experience, public service, and strong client-focused advocacy to each matter.
