About

Kaylyn Hite serves individuals and families across Southeast Kansas, focusing on driving under the influence defense, criminal defense, family law, estate planning, evictions, contracts, adoptions, and traffic matters. Through clear advocacy, she helps clients understand their options and prepare for decisions, whether in or out of the courtroom. Her approach emphasizes direct communication, practical guidance, and careful attention to each client’s circumstances.

Kaylyn earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Pittsburg State University. She later received her Juris Doctor from Washburn University School of Law. After her first year of law school, she gained summer legal experience and continued developing her skills through additional legal work. Following graduation, she began practicing as an attorney. Her education and early experience strengthened her legal writing, courtroom preparation, negotiation, and ability to explain difficult issues clearly.

Kaylyn was admitted to practice in Kansas in 2019, and she is also licensed in Missouri. Before her public appointment, she spent five years handling defense work in Southeast Kansas. In September 2025, she was appointed City Prosecutor for Pittsburg, Kansas. In that role, she prosecutes municipal criminal and traffic violations while helping ensure fair treatment for victims and witnesses. Her combined experience in both defense and prosecution gives her a broader understanding of case strategy, evidence, and local court procedures.

Kaylyn Hite remains active in the Pittsburg community while continuing to serve clients through her private practice. She serves as a Chamber of Commerce ambassador and board member. Her leadership also includes past service as President of Pittsburg Sunrise Rotary and recognition as a Paul Harris Fellow. In 2024, she was honored as a Pittsburgh Chamber of Commerce Woman of Distinction. Her community involvement, courtroom experience, and local roots support informed and accessible legal representation.
