Kayla Moody-Grant

Kayla Moody-Grant is an associate attorney at Taft. In its litigation practice group, she specializes in commercial and municipal law and is an expert in many litigation matters and municipal law. She advises local governments on employment, public purchasing, redevelopment, compliance, and contracts. She also represents municipalities in local courts. She assists with drafting ordinances and resolutions. She also serves as a parliamentarian and advisor at meetings.

Ms. Moody-Grant has vast experience in eminent domain law. She has represented both condemning authorities and landowners in complex cases. Her municipal governance and commercial litigation skills make her a trusted legal advisor to her clients.

In 2019, Ms. Moody-Grant earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. She earned her undergraduate degree from Indiana University in 2016. In law school, she gained invaluable judicial experience.

She externed with Justice David of the Indiana Supreme Court and Chief Judge Tanya Walton Pratt of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. Her roles as co-chair of the Women’s Caucus and philanthropy chair for Phi Delta Phi show her dedication to the legal profession and her community.

Ms. Moody-Grant is recognized for her work. She was named to the Indiana Super Lawyers Rising Stars list for Business Litigation (2024). She was also in Best Lawyers’ “Ones to Watch” for Commercial Litigation (2024-2025). She is also a National Black Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 honoree (2022) and a Taft Pro Bono Honor Roll Award recipient (2022).
