Kathryn Terry, an owner and founding partner of Terry & deGraauw Family Law, is a highly respected Albuquerque attorney with more than two decades of experience. She represents clients in divorce, custody, and complex family law matters, earning recognition for her commitment to fairness and her ability to achieve lasting resolutions.

Kathryn received her Bachelor of Arts from Tulane University before completing her Juris Doctor at the University of New Mexico School of Law. Licensed since 2004, Kathryn practices in both district and federal courts across New Mexico. In addition, she serves as an adjunct professor at UNM School of Law, teaching Community Property and Collaborative Family Law, reflecting her deep knowledge and commitment to mentoring future attorneys.

Kathryn’s practice is centered on protecting families and children. She frequently serves as a Guardian ad Litem, representing children in custody, abuse, and neglect cases. She also acts as a Settlement Facilitator, helping parties resolve disputes through creative, balanced solutions. Her areas of practice include divorce, property division, mediation, collaborative law, adoption, guardianship, and spousal and child support.

A leader in the legal community, Kathryn is a past president of the New Mexico Collaborative Practice Group and has served on numerous boards and committees, including the Children’s Court Rules Committee and Pegasus Legal Services for Children.

Kathryn Terry’s honors include selection to Super Lawyers, recognition as a Super Lawyers Rising Star, and the Albuquerque Journal Women in Business Award. With expertise, compassion, and community dedication, she stands as one of New Mexico’s most accomplished family law attorneys.
