Kathleen Hart concentrates her practice at Riley Bennett Egloff LLP, on civil and commercial litigation involving business disputes, injunctive relief, restrictive covenants, trade secret claims, contracts, property issues, estate planning law, and corporate control conflicts. She represents clients in matters involving fraud, embezzlement, business torts, failed transactions, and shareholder disputes. She helps clients assess the strengths and weaknesses of claims and defenses, develop practical strategies, and pursue resolutions aligned with their legal and business objectives across diverse industries.
Kathleen earned her B.A., with distinction, from Indiana University in 1990 and her J.D. from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 1994. She completed National Institute for Trial Advocacy training in 2000 and civil mediation training through ICLEF in 2010. She was admitted to practice in Indiana in 1995 and later gained admission to federal district and appellate courts supporting her litigation practice in complex business disputes.
Kathleen also serves as outside general counsel for privately held businesses and advises high-net-worth individuals on employment and business matters. She negotiates and evaluates employment, non-competition, confidentiality, change-in-control, and severance agreements. She also assists clients with entity formation, corporate governance, legal compliance, and contracts. Her experience includes helping women and minority-owned businesses pursue MBE, WBE, DBE, and related certifications through governmental and certifying agencies and related complex business ownership matters.
Kathleen Hart brings extensive litigation and business counseling experience to complex disputes and ongoing corporate needs. She was selected to the 2026 Indiana Super Lawyers list for Business Litigation and received 2026 recognition from The Best Lawyers in America. She also received Indianapolis Monthly Top Lawyers recognition in 2026.
