Kathleen E. Callaway is a Director in the Trusts & Estates practice, concentrating on estate planning, probate, and wealth preservation. She advises individuals and families on the thoughtful preparation and implementation of estate plans designed to protect assets and ensure smooth wealth transitions across generations.
Kathleen earned her LL.M. from New York University School of Law. She received her Juris Doctor from Arizona State University, Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, where she was a Pedrick Scholar and earned CALI Awards for highest grade in Evidence and Employment Law. She completed her Bachelor of Arts at Arizona State University.
Kathleen’s practice includes comprehensive estate planning, private client representation, and estate and trust administration. She works closely with clients to design customized strategies that address tax considerations, asset protection, and long-term succession objectives while ensuring diligent and compliant plan implementation.
Kathleen also has experience in estate litigation matters, supporting clients in resolving disputes involving trusts and estates. Her approach emphasizes clarity, careful drafting, and proactive risk management to reduce the likelihood of future conflicts and preserve family wealth.
Before joining the firm, Kathleen served as Associate Editor for Wealth Strategies Journal, where she drafted articles summarizing developments in tax and estate planning law. This experience strengthened her ability to translate complex legal changes into practical guidance for clients and professionals.
During law school, Kathleen served as a legal extern for The Honorable George Foster of the Maricopa County Superior Court. She also externed at the Phoenix Juvenile Public Defender’s Office and the Crime Victims Legal Assistance Project, gaining valuable courtroom and client-advocacy experience.
