Katherine L. Maloney is an experienced Plainfield attorney and Equity Partner known for her commitment to helping individuals and families through complex legal matters. For more than 25 years, she has focused on delivering clear guidance, effective representation, and strategic solutions in family law, guardianship, estate planning, and related areas. Katherine earned her B.A. from Northern Illinois University, where she was recognized for leadership and service. She then received her J.D. from the National Law Center at George Washington University. During law school, she completed an internship with the Counsel for the Marine Corps Commandant at the Pentagon, gaining valuable experience in federal and international law.
Katherine returned to Plainfield after law school and began practicing at a small firm, where she handled a wide range of legal matters, including family law, criminal law, real estate, probate, juvenile matters, workers’ compensation, and minor business issues. Over time, she built a strong reputation in family law and was appointed as a Guardian ad Litem, advocating for children and adults with disabilities. She later joined a prominent regional firm, where she spent 25 years managing complex divorce, custody, and litigation matters.
Katherine L. Maloney has long been active in professional and community organizations. She has held leadership roles with the Women’s Bar Association of Will County, served on judicial selection committees, and worked with local service groups. Her ongoing dedication to ethical practice and client-focused service has earned her recognition, including the Martindale-Hubbell BV rating and the Will County Pro Bono Award.
