Karrie Dodson

Karrie Dodson is a partner at Maddox & Gerock, P.C., serving families in Fairfax, Alexandria, and other Northern Virginia courts. Her practice focuses on divorce, high-asset divorce, equitable distribution, child custody and visitation, child support, spousal support, contempt proceedings, and post-divorce disputes. She assists clients with both financial and parenting conflicts. Her approach emphasizes individual circumstances and practical ways to resolve sensitive matters while preparing for litigation when a dispute cannot be settled.

Karrie earned a B.A. in Political Science from the University of the District of Columbia in 2009, graduating summa cum laude. She then completed her J.D. at the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law in 2016, graduating magna cum laude. Her undergraduate honors included the National Honors Society and Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society. She was admitted to the Virginia Bar in 2016.

Karrie worked as a family law paralegal before becoming an attorney. In that role, she gained experience with discovery, court filings, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation. She has worked exclusively in family law for more than 14 years, counting her work before admission to the bar. Her current caseload includes custody issues, property division, support obligations, and enforcement of existing orders, with substantial work in Fairfax County and Alexandria.

Karrie Dodson has been recognized on the Super Lawyers Rising Stars list from 2022 through 2026, and she received Best Lawyers recognition in 2021. She belongs to the Virginia State Bar, Fairfax Bar Association, Alexandria Bar Association, American Bar Association, and other trial and family law organizations. Her experience across the administrative and advocacy sides of family litigation helps her guide clients through both procedural demands and difficult decisions.
