Justin Essa Zayid

Justin Essa Zayid is a Michigan criminal defense attorney and founder of ZAYID LAW. He defends individuals from the first call through resolution, challenges evidence and investigations, and focuses on protecting freedom. Justin earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He obtained a Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School, cum laude, after receiving a full-ride Dean’s Scholarship. During law school, he served as Symposium Editor for the Wayne Law Review.

Justin completed his studies in the top ten percent of his class and published a scholarly article circulated nationwide through the Wayne Law Review. He also earned academic honors through the Dean’s Scholarship and developed advocacy skills as a Senior Member of the Wayne Mock Trial Advocacy Program.

Justin brings experience from the United States Attorney’s Office, General Crimes Unit, and service with a federal judge in the Eastern District of Michigan. He contributed to sentencing memoranda, research, motions to suppress, ticket duty hearings, and plea negotiations, gaining insight into prosecutorial strategy used against defendants statewide.

Justin represents clients accused of DUI, traffic violations, drug charges, theft and property crimes, weapons offenses, and juvenile matters. He is admitted in Michigan, Illinois, Washington, D.C., and federal courts, and maintains professional memberships with state and county bar associations and community organizations across southeastern Michigan regions today.
