About

Julia Siewit is a corporate and tax attorney who advises individuals, closely held businesses, and corporate clients on business structuring and transactional matters. Her practice includes entity formation, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, and tax planning. She helps clients address complex tax rules while seeking to reduce tax liability and support long-term strategic growth. Her understanding of law, accounting, and finance allows her to consider both the legal and financial effects of a transaction.

Julia earned a B.A. in Political Studies, with minor studies in Accounting and Finance, from Suffolk University. She later received her J.D. and LL.M. from the University of San Francisco School of Law. While completing her legal studies, she received the USF School of Law JD Student Tax Award in 2021. This academic background supports her ability to analyze business arrangements, tax consequences, and corporate decisions from several practical perspectives.

Julia previously represented privately held companies and entrepreneurs in entity formations, governance matters, restructurings, and equity transactions. She managed merger and acquisition deals from the term sheet through closing and advised on tax issues involving pass-through entities, C corporations, and executive compensation. Earlier, she worked in KPMG’s mergers and acquisitions tax group, conducting tax due diligence and advising on post-closing structures for private equity transactions, including matters involving real estate investment trusts and real estate-focused clients.

Julia Siewit also gained experience through internships with KPMG’s Compensation & Benefits group and Andersen Tax’s Alternative Investment Funds group. Her work included executive compensation, deferred tax planning, corporate tax analysis, and fund structures across several industries. She is known for a practical, thorough, and responsive approach. By connecting financial considerations with legal requirements, she helps clients understand complex issues, assess transaction structures, and make informed business decisions.
