Judy earned both her bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor with honors from the University of Georgia, where her academic excellence laid the foundation for a distinguished legal career. She began practicing law in Albany before establishing her practice in Atlanta in 1986, with an initial focus on workers’ compensation defense. Her legal perspective was further shaped by her service as an Administrative Law Judge, where she presided over more than 500 cases, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the legal system.

In 2000, Judy advanced to Partner at a prominent Atlanta law firm, leading its Workers’ Compensation practice group with distinction. She later served as Assistant General Counsel for Atlanta Public Schools, where she oversaw complex workers’ compensation matters within the educational system. These roles solidified her reputation as a thoughtful, results-oriented legal professional dedicated to achieving fair outcomes.

Joining Hasner Law, Judy Blackwell now applies her extensive judicial and litigation experience to advocate for injured workers alongside Managing Partner Stephen Hasner.
