Joshua D. Adams

Joshua D. Adams is a partner in the Litigation Practice Group at McCormick Barstow LLP in Fresno, California. He represents clients in complex disputes involving employment, business, real estate, and other commercial matters. Mr. Adams also handles class and representative actions in state and federal courts. His practice includes counseling businesses on compliance, workplace investigations, policies, employee handbooks, and litigation risks that require careful analysis and practical guidance.

Mr. Adams earned his J.D. from George Washington University Law School in 2014, where he served as Submissions Editor of The Federal Circuit Bar Journal and received the U.S. President’s Volunteer Service Award. He also earned a B.A. in Political Science, cum laude, from the University of California, Irvine in 2010. His academic background supports his work in litigation, legal writing, commercial analysis, and complex dispute resolution.

Mr. Adams has experience across all phases of state and federal court litigation. Before joining McCormick Barstow LLP, he worked for five years at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California, where he handled civil litigation and criminal matters, including trials. He has also litigated complex disputes involving commercial contracts, construction, real estate, environmental claims, constitutional issues, administrative law, business disputes, fraud, trademarks, and immigration.

Joshua D. Adams is admitted in California and New York and is admitted to practice in every federal district court in California. He is also a member of the Fresno County Bar Association. His recent work includes success on dispositive motions and class action claims involving arbitration agreements and class action waivers. By combining federal court experience, commercial litigation background, and practical business counseling, Mr. Adams helps clients address disputes with preparation, judgment, and strategic focus.
