Erin Smith Aebel is a shareholder at Trenam in Tampa, Florida. Ms. Aebel earned her J.D., cum laude, from Loyola University School of Law in 1996. She also received a B.S., magna cum laude, from Loyola University in 1993. Her academic background provided a strong foundation in legal analysis, business counseling, health care regulation, and client service. This training supports her ability to guide providers through complex compliance requirements, transactional issues, and operational concerns affecting health care organizations.
Ms. Aebel has more than 20 years of experience representing health care clients in business and regulatory matters. Her work includes preparing and negotiating hospital-related agreements, physician employment agreements, medical director agreements, and contracts related to licensure and scope-of-practice issues. She has also assisted with hospital asset sales, health care entity combinations, ambulatory surgery center transactions, Stark compliance analysis, HIPAA breach notifications, government investigations, and facility licensure applications.
