Josh Tomsheck

Josh Tomsheck is a partner at Hofland & Tomsheck in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he leads the firm’s Criminal Trial and Personal Injury Practice Groups. His criminal defense practice includes state and federal cases involving DUI, domestic violence, drug charges, violent felonies, firearms offenses, robbery, kidnapping, murder, theft, and white collar allegations. Tomsheck also represents clients during criminal investigations and focuses his practice entirely on litigation and trial work.

Tomsheck earned his J.D. from Drake University Law School, where he was named to the Dean’s List, served as Student Bar Association vice president, and was inducted into the Order of the Barristers. He received a B.A. in Finance and Economics from St. Ambrose University. His legal education and business background support his ability to analyze evidence, financial issues, and trial strategy in complex criminal and civil litigation.

Before entering private practice, Tomsheck served as a Chief Deputy District Attorney in the Clark County District Attorney’s Office from 2005 to 2011. He prosecuted serious criminal cases and worked in the Gun Crimes Section of the Major Violators Unit. He has tried more than 150 jury and bench cases to verdict, argued before the Nevada Supreme Court, and served on the federal Criminal Justice Act panel for serious federal criminal matters.

Josh Tomsheck is nationally board certified as a Criminal Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and is registered as a Specialist in Criminal Trial Advocacy by the State Bar of Nevada. He is a Life Member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and belongs to the National College for DUI Defense and the Nevada Association for Criminal Justice. His practice combines prosecutorial insight, extensive courtroom experience, and trial-focused defense for clients facing serious criminal charges.
