Joseph Gersten

Joseph Gersten is the founder of The Gersten Law Firm PLLC in Las Vegas, Nevada. His practice focuses on criminal defense law in Nevada state and federal courts. He represents residents, visitors, and tourists facing charges involving drugs, prostitution, domestic violence, firearms, and other criminal offenses. His work also includes family law and business matters. He brings investigative and trial experience to cases that require detailed preparation, courtroom strategy, and an understanding of complex evidence.

Joseph earned a J.D., cum laude, from Quinnipiac College School of Law. He also received an M.F.S. and a B.A. from The George Washington University. His education includes basic and advanced trial training through the National Institute of Trial Advocacy. His academic background in forensic sciences supports his work in cases involving technical evidence, investigations, and criminal procedure. He also serves as an adjunct professor in UNLV’s Criminal Justice Department, where he lectures on criminal law and criminal procedure.

Joseph has a professional background includes work for the United States Secret Service Intelligence Division and the United States Food and Drug Administration’s Office of Criminal Investigations. He later gained extensive trial experience representing two large insurance companies and working at a private law firm. His combined investigative and litigation background helps him assess evidence, prepare cases for trial, and address complicated factual and legal issues in criminal matters.

Joseph Gersten is admitted in Nevada and Connecticut and before federal appellate and district courts in both regions. He belongs to the Clark County Bar Association, Nevada Attorneys for Criminal Justice, the Association of Former Intelligence Officers, and Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society. His practice combines criminal defense, forensic training, investigative experience, and trial advocacy to help clients respond to serious charges and other legal concerns throughout Clark County.
