Josh Johnson

Josh Johnson is a Colorado criminal defense lawyer at The Law Offices of Joshua Johnson, LLC. He represents people accused of criminal offenses in state and municipal courts throughout Colorado and also handles related matters. His work includes jury trials, court-appointed criminal cases, appeals, record sealing, and juvenile record expungement. He has successfully obtained acquittals at jury trials and has helped establish favorable law through the Colorado Court of Appeals.

Mr. Johnson attended Fordham University School of Law, Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, and the University of Colorado, Boulder. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado before spending three years with the United States Peace Corps in Guinea, West Africa. His legal education was followed by a federal judicial clerkship in Brooklyn, New York, where he worked for a United States magistrate judge in federal district court.

Mr. Johnson began private practice at Pepper Hamilton, LLP in Philadelphia, where he defended Fortune 500 companies in more than 100 product liability lawsuits in state and federal courts. While there, he also joined a group of lawyers working to establish the Pennsylvania Innocence Project. His current criminal practice includes investigating cases, negotiating favorable plea agreements, preparing matters for trial, and challenging adverse outcomes through appellate proceedings when appropriate for clients.

Josh Johnson also assists clients with sealing and expunging eligible Colorado criminal records. His firm has obtained sealing orders in courts across nearly every Colorado county, helping clients address barriers involving employment, housing, education, and professional licensing. He is a member of the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar and is admitted in Colorado, with inactive admissions in New York and Pennsylvania. His practice combines trial advocacy, appellate work, and post-case record relief.
