Joseph A. Strode is a seasoned attorney handling business and commercial litigation, complex tort cases, and transactional matters. His practice includes banking, real estate, creditor bankruptcy, and agricultural chemical and feed litigation. He also engages in limited intellectual property work and is registered to practice before the U.S.P.T.O.
Joseph earned a J.D. from the Southern Methodist University School of Law and a B.S.E.E. (with honors) from the University of Arkansas. He was admitted to the Arkansas Bar in 1972 and to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in 1972. He practices before the Arkansas State Courts, the federal district courts, and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Joseph has successfully defended lender liability, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, and noncompete claims. He obtained summary judgment in Office Machines, Inc. v. South Arkansas Business Solutions, affirmed on appeal. In Echubby Lake Hunting Club v. U.S.A., he secured a federal court ruling that reversed a permit denial, resulting in the issuance of permits.
Joseph’s experience also includes Stiles v. Land O’Lakes, Inc., where he obtained summary judgment in a case involving alleged contaminated dairy feed. In In Re Jimmy H. Harris, the court denied discharge and entered a six-figure judgment for the creditor. He handles significant bankruptcy, navigability, accretion, and loan matters.
