Jorge Riera

Jorge Riera is a Miami attorney who leads the Real Estate and Title Division at Gimenez & Carrillo LLC. He also has substantial experience in securities law, investment disputes, financial investigations, and regulatory compliance. His work spans real estate transactions and the protection of investors’ interests. He has represented thousands of investors and combines a background in federal enforcement with experience advising financial businesses on complex compliance responsibilities.

Jorge earned a business degree in Finance and International Business with honors from Florida International University. He then earned a master’s degree in accounting with highest honors and a law degree with honors from Nova Southeastern University. During law school, he participated in the NSU Law Journal and NSU Trial Association. Before beginning his legal career, he practiced as a certified public accountant.

Jorge spent a decade in the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Enforcement, where he investigated matters involving financial fraud, insider trading, market manipulation, accounting fraud, and disclosure violations. As senior counsel, he led enforcement actions involving securities laws. He later served as in-house counsel and regional director of compliance at HSBC Bank North America, working on regulatory projects and enterprise conduct-risk initiatives.

Jorge Riera has more than 20 years of experience as a securities lawyer and has served as co-chair of the Arbitration Committee of the Public Investors Advocate Bar Association. His work at the SEC earned recognition for investigations and enforcement efforts. These public-sector and private-sector roles give him insight into how regulators evaluate financial conduct. He applies that perspective to title work, investor matters, and business compliance concerns.
