Jonathan N. Portner

Jonathan N. Portner is President and Managing Partner of Portner & Shure, P.A. He represents clients in criminal defense, personal injury, motor vehicle accidents, medical malpractice, workers’ compensation, and drug and medical device injury matters across Maryland, Virginia, and D.C.

Jonathan graduated cum laude from the University of Baltimore Law School. He also served as an associate editor of the Law Review. After law school, he clerked for Chief Judge Gilbert of the Maryland Court of Special Appeals before working as a litigator at Gordon, Feinblatt.

Jonathan supervises seven fully staffed offices, more than fifty staff members, and ten lawyers. Each month, he helps secure millions of dollars in settlements and trial awards. His firm has recovered more than $400 million while handling injury, workers’ compensation, malpractice, and criminal defense cases.

Jonathan has obtained major results, including settlements of $2.15 million, $900,000, $750,000, and $450,000 in serious accident and wrongful death matters. He has also tried or resolved thousands of cases against insurance defense attorneys and prosecutors in state and federal courts.
