Jonathan Benevides

Jonathan Benevides is a civil defense litigator and Member in Kansas City who represents corporate clients in complex legal matters. He focuses on delivering strong advocacy in litigation, helping clients resolve disputes through clear strategy, effective presentation, and a deep understanding of their industries.

Jonathan earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas School of Law in 2009, where he served as Articles Editor of the Kansas Journal of Law and Public Policy. He also received a B.S.B.M., summa cum laude, from Rockhurst University in 2005.

Jonathan focuses his practice on commercial litigation, employment and labor, product liability, premises liability, and personal injury defense. He represents clients across industries such as transportation, retail, manufacturing, hospitality, construction, insurance, and pharmaceutical and medical devices.

Jonathan has been recognized by Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers from 2024 to 2025 and previously as a Rising Star from 2014 to 2023. He also received the Missouri Lawyers Media Up & Coming Award in 2020, reflecting his growing impact in the legal field.

Jonathan has extensive litigation experience, having taken and defended hundreds of depositions and served as first-chair and sole counsel in trials. He has successfully represented Fortune 500 companies in both state and federal courts in Kansas and Missouri.

Jonathan also represents employers before the National Labor Relations Board in union and labor matters. His work includes advising business leaders on employee relations and assisting with union-related issues and corporate campaigns.
