Jon E. Sorensen

Jon E. Sorensen is the founding attorney of The Sorensen Law Firm and serves clients in Florida and Texas, including from the firm’s Homestead office. He represents injury victims and policyholders in personal injury and insurance-related matters. His practice includes automobile accidents, slip-and-fall injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and spinal cord injuries. His earlier work inside the insurance industry gives him practical insight into how insurers evaluate and defend claims.

Sorensen earned a B.A. in Political Science from Florida International University, followed by a J.D. and an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Miami. Before law school, he served six years in the United States Navy and earned several service honors. His legal education and disciplined professional background support a practice that requires careful analysis of insurance issues, damages, medical evidence, litigation strategy, and the financial consequences of serious injuries.

Sorensen began his legal career in 1999 as a paralegal for insurance defense counsel, then worked as a litigation adjuster and later as in-house defense counsel for a major insurance carrier. His insurance-side experience involved thousands of litigation matters and taught him how carriers evaluate, delay, deny, and underpay claims. Since entering private practice in 2016, he has used that background to represent injured people and insurance policyholders.
