About
John Sesini is the Managing Partner of Sesini Law Group, S.C., where he leads the firm’s Family and Deportation Practice Group. With a focus exclusively on immigration law, he represents clients in matters such as removal defense, waivers, and adjustment of status, with a deep understanding of how criminal convictions affect immigration outcomes.
John earned his Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1991 after completing his Bachelor of Arts at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee in 1988. His background in criminal law has become a vital asset in his immigration practice, allowing him to work closely with defense attorneys and to successfully vacate numerous criminal convictions on behalf of non-citizen clients.
John has earned a reputation for success in high-stakes litigation, appearing before the Second, Third, Sixth, and Seventh Circuit Courts of Appeals. He regularly litigates complex immigration issues and is recognized for his courtroom skill and strategic advocacy. He was named a Super Lawyer in immigration in 2011 and has received other accolades including Top One Percent by the National Association of Distinguished Counsel.
John is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the State Bar of Wisconsin. John frequently speaks at immigration-related seminars, including events for AILA, and contributes to legal publications, including Wisconsin Lawyer on preserving DACA protections.
With over three decades of experience, John Sesini offers strategic, client-focused representation in some of the most challenging areas of immigration law.
