John G. Hough

John G. Hough, known as Jack, is the founding partner of Hough Law Offices, P.L.L.C. in Mesa, Arizona. He concentrates his practice on estate planning law, wills, trusts, probate, and trust administration. He opened the firm in 1991 after decades of legal and business experience in Arizona. He represents clients in estate-related matters and has practiced law in the state since his admission to the Arizona Bar in 1962.

John earned his B.A., magna cum laude, in Economics from the University of Notre Dame. He received his J.D. from Harvard University. After law school, he moved to Arizona and clerked for Justice Lorna Lockwood of the Arizona Supreme Court. His clerkship lasted from 1961 to 1962, providing early experience within Arizona’s judicial system before he entered private practice.

John practiced with a Mesa law firm from 1962 until 1974. He then joined Empire Southwest in Mesa, where he served as Chief Legal Officer and Chief Financial Officer until 1991. He subsequently established Hough Law Offices, P.L.L.C. His practice focuses on helping clients address estate planning and administration matters involving wills, trusts, probate proceedings, and related legal concerns.

John G. Hough holds an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell. His professional affiliations include the State Bar of Arizona, American Bar Association, Mesa Tax Study Group, and East Valley Estate Planning Council. He has also participated in the Estate Planning Committee of the Catholic Community Foundation. He has held leadership positions with several professional and community organizations during his career while maintaining his estate planning practice in Arizona.
