John D. Claypool

John D. Claypool is a Partner who concentrates his practice in personal injury litigation. Throughout his career, he has built a reputation as a dedicated and zealous advocate for individuals harmed by the negligence of others. His work focuses on protecting the rights of injured clients and pursuing full and fair compensation on their behalf.

John earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and his Juris Doctor from the University of Wisconsin Law School in Madison, Wisconsin. He was admitted to practice in Wisconsin in 1988.

John has consistently been named a Wisconsin Super Lawyer, placing him among the top 5% of attorneys in Wisconsin. He has been recognized as one of Wisconsin’s Top 50 attorneys for seven consecutive years and has been selected to Super Lawyers for 17 years in a row. Board-certified by the National Board of Trial Advocates, he has settled cases in excess of $3 million and has tried more than 250 cases before juries. In 2015, following a week-long jury trial in Winnebago County, he secured a $1.3 million verdict in a complex premises liability case.

John has taken on major corporations on behalf of his clients, including Walmart, Walgreens, WE Energies, AT&T, ShopKo, Stanley, Black & Decker, Bowtech, Inc., Ford Motor Company, and others. He strongly believes in the right to a trial by jury and frequently speaks at legal seminars on this topic. He is also often asked to serve as a mediator in personal injury matters due to his professional reputation and legal ability.

John D. Claypool remains active in the legal community, having served on the Wisconsin State Bar’s Board of Governors and the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Association for Justice, as well as serving as past president of the Outagamie County Bar Association.
