John Cutler

John Cutler is the Founding Attorney of Cutler Law Office, P.A., focusing on criminal defense litigation with an emphasis on DUI defense. With more than 30 years of experience, he represents clients in both State and Federal Courts. His practice includes handling felony and misdemeanor charges, filing motions to suppress evidence, and defending individuals accused of federal crimes as a member of the Federal CJA Panel.

John earned a B.S. in Accounting, Brigham Young University, 1986, and a J.D. in Law, Brigham Young University’s J. Reuben Clark Law School, 1989. He is admitted to practice in All Idaho State Courts, the Federal District Court of Idaho, the Federal District Court of Arizona and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. After law school, he served as a federal law clerk for the Honorable Robert G. Mooreman, Chief Bankruptcy Judge for the District of Arizona.

John entered private practice in 1995 and opened Cutler Law Office, P.A. in 2003. He regularly attends advanced seminars on criminal defense, DUI defense, and trial skills. He has completed both the Student and Instructor’s Courses of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) “DWI Detection and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing” and the NHTSA “Advanced Roadside Impaired Driver Enforcement (ARIDE) course. He also attended the “Serious Science for Serious Lawyers – Advanced Course in Blood Alcohol Analysis & Trial Advocacy” hosted by the National College of DUI Defense (NCDD).

John Cutler is a member of the Idaho Association for Criminal Defense Lawyers, the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, the National College of DUI Defense, and a Founding Member of the DUI Defense Lawyers Association. He has been named a Top 100 Criminal Trial Lawyer in Idaho every year since 2014. He holds an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell and a 10.0 “Superb” rating from AVVO.com, along with AVVO Client’s Choice awards for multiple years.
