About
John Cummings is a founding Partner at Anderson, Cummings & Drawhorn, where he brings decades of litigation experience to severe personal injury cases across Texas. Known for his strategic advocacy and courtroom skill, John is double Board Certified in both Personal Injury Trial Law and Civil Trial Law, a rare distinction reflecting his deep legal proficiency and trial success.
John earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1991, followed by a Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law in 1995. His academic grounding and courtroom discipline earned him editorial roles and accolades early on, laying a strong foundation for a decorated trial career spanning multiple jurisdictions, including Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico.
John handles complex cases involving wrongful death, catastrophic injury, oil and gas accidents, truck crashes, and product liability. His advocacy has led to numerous high-value verdicts and settlements, including a record-setting trucking case in McLennan County and one of Johnson County’s largest single-injury settlements. His work consistently garners attention from national and international media and legal publications.
In addition to personal injury, John’s legal work has helped shape industry standards, such as his litigation exposing construction crane safety failures. His impactful representation has earned him AV Preeminent ratings from Martindale-Hubbell and repeat recognition as a Texas Super Lawyer® and Top 100 Attorney by Texas Monthly. He also holds leadership roles in several trial lawyer associations and bar foundations.
John Cummings’ reputation is built on courtroom victories, leadership, and integrity in the legal profession.
