John earned an A.B., magna cum laude, from Dartmouth College in 1973. He later received a J.D., with distinction, from Duke University School of Law in 1976. His academic background provided a strong foundation for a practice that combines corporate guidance, international business knowledge, and strategic problem-solving for organizations of various sizes.
John concentrates on international business transactions and has extensive experience assisting foreign investors in establishing operations in the United States. For more than 35 years, he has advised Japanese manufacturers, logistics companies, and related businesses operating in Ohio. His work spans corporate, real estate, tax, immigration, and financing matters. He also counsels American companies involved in business activities in China and other international markets.
John regularly provides advice on sales agent relationships, distributor arrangements, export control concerns, customs matters, and related commercial issues. His practice also includes corporate acquisitions, mergers, asset sales, stock transactions, and business expansion efforts. In addition, he has represented architectural and engineering firms engaged in international projects, assisting with design and construction agreements as well as joint venture negotiations.
John C. Beeler has devoted a significant portion of his career to affordable housing and community development projects. He represents developers, lenders, investors, and nonprofit organizations involved in low-income housing tax credit and new markets tax credit transactions. His efforts have supported the creation and preservation of tens of thousands of affordable housing units across the United States through tax credit financing and public funding programs. Throughout his career, John C. Beeler has also contributed to legal education, community organizations, and professional associations while earning recognition for his work in corporate law and international business matters.
