John A. Schipper

John A. Schipper is the founder of The Schipper Law Group and a Michigan attorney with more than 15 years of experience in employment and disability law. He represents individuals denied fair treatment, promised compensation, or earned benefits, bringing focused advocacy to complex disputes involving employers, insurers, and benefit administrators.

John earned a Bachelor of Arts from Wayne State University in 1998, followed by a Master of Arts in 2000. He completed his Juris Doctor at Wayne State University Law School in 2005, graduating cum laude with coursework concentrated in employment and disability law.

Before opening his own practice, John gained valuable insight working as an employment and labor defense attorney and in human resources management. This experience enables him to understand how employers and claims administrators evaluate cases, giving him a strategic advantage when advocating for employees and individuals with disabilities.

John focuses exclusively on employment and disability law. His practice includes discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage-and-hour disputes, and family and medical leave matters. He also represents clients in disability insurance claims, Social Security Disability, and workers’ compensation cases involving denied or delayed benefits.

John is admitted to practice in the State of Michigan, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the National Employment Lawyers Association, and is involved in multiple employment-focused sections.
