Joe Newman

Joe Newman is Of Counsel in Hall Booth Smith, P.C.’s Missoula office, with a practice that ranges from medical malpractice and general litigation defense to transactional matters. His work includes health care-related issues, general liability, and business transactions. Before joining the firm, he practiced at Kalkstein Law Firm, P.C., where his work centered on medical malpractice defense and health care matters for clients facing professional and litigation risk.

Joe earned his J.D., with honors, from the University of Montana and a B.S., with high honors, from the University of Montana. Before completing law school, he undertook an extended clinical practice internship with the Montana Department of Natural Resources & Conservation. That experience exposed him to agency, regulatory, property, transactional, and natural resource issues and added a public-sector perspective to his later private practice.

Joe’s legal work combines litigation defense with transactional and regulatory experience. He represents clients in medical malpractice and general liability matters and assists with business transactions. His earlier clinical work involved administrative and property issues, while private practice developed his experience in health care disputes.
